Fresno County, Calif. The Fresno Council of Governments is launching Measure C Community Meetings across Fresno County through September. Beginning May 27, 2025, Fresno County residents will have an opportunity to learn about the impact Measure C funding has made on their communities and share how they would like to see Measure C funding used for future transportation improvements. These community meetings will be hosted in cities throughout the region, including dinner, refreshments and a kids activities table at each location. Language interpretation services will also be provided at all meetings. An additional virtual workshop and ongoing grassroots outreach, pop-up events and community engagements will take place across the county all year long.

“Fresno County residents are impacted by traffic and transportation projects each and every day,” said Alma Beltran, Fresno COG Policy Board Chair and City of Parlier Mayor. “Their perspective is critical when considering how Measure C tax dollars are spent. These workshops will provide residents the opportunity to share their priorities for transportation improvements within their communities, which gives everyone an opportunity to help build the new expenditure plan. Our goal is to gather feedback from every corner of the county to ensure every voice is represented in the draft Measure C Renewal Expenditure Plan.”

Measure C funds currently support road maintenance, public transit systems, and infrastructure improvements across all Fresno communities. Since its adoption in 1986, Measure C has generated more than $2.1 billion locally and leveraged an additional $8 billion in state and federal funding. For most households, this sales tax amounts to about $4 to $8 per month through everyday purchases like clothing, movie tickets, and restaurant dining.

The Measure C Steering Committee is made up of community members throughout Fresno County. They are tasked with developing a draft expenditure plan, drawing on briefs from local agencies, feedback gathered from the community, and data analyzing the past and potential impacts of Measure C funding.

Fresno County residents play a vital role in the future of transportation in their communities. To attend a community workshop, request a presentation to your group or to learn more about Measure C, head to measurec2026.com.
